The Edge-Man Championship 2025

The main event for the second annual Edge-Man Championship was on Saturday January 18, 2025! The tournament was once again held in Tilburg (the Netherlands) at Wijkcentrum Jeruzalem and followed the Swedish rules. Prior to the main event there was a truly epic Edge-Man pre-party.

The introduction of themes!

The first edition of the Edge-Man Championship was all about the Edge-Man and his first adventure on the open plains. For the 2025 Edge-Man Championship we introduced subthemes to the championship. Setting a subtheme wasn’t just about adding a quirky twist—it was about injecting a dose of excitement into every new entry. With each Edge-Man future championship, a fresh subtheme will be unveiled, transporting players to uncharted realms of creativity and strategy. The Edge-Man 2025 Championship subtheme was “1950’s Classic Horror Movies”.

Drawing inspiration from timeless classics like “Creature from the Black Lagoon”, “The Thing from Another World” and “Dracula” the subtheme immerses The Edge-Man in a world of spine-tingling suspense. From The ‘Force of Nature’ that stalks the murky depths of the forbidden swamp, to the ‘Terror’ of the ‘Dark heart of the Wood’. Get ready for atomic monsters, sinister science, and beasts from beyond the dark!

In addition to the thrill it brings to players, curating these themed tournaments is an absolute blast for me as an organizer. Dreaming up new subthemes means I got to design new custom playmats adorned with evocative artwork, custom patches, new sticker designs and sweet prizes and give-aways.

Players to treated to professional alters of favorite Old School staples inspired by legendary films as “The Curse of the Werewolf,” “Horror of Dracula,” “Creature from the Black Lagoon,” “Invasion of the Saucer-Men,” “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman,” and many more! Besides the Top 8 players got rewarded for spice builds, on theme-builds and lots more.
